The unique 1939 Cadillac V8 limousine did not even belong to Garson, it was simply the vehicle she used for transport around the MGM lot while she was filming. However, this limousine which happens to be associated with a star, is being hired out for films, television, music videos, photo shoots and promotional events so everyone can feel as though they too are in the Hollywood spotlight.

Greer Garson had a long and varied career and so it is no surprise that her limousine is well known as it was probably very well used when she was filming Pride and Prejudice, playing Elizabeth Bennet in 1940, had her part in The Singing Nun and found her way into every lounge room when she appeared in a TV adaptation of Twelfth Night in 1937 which is said to be the first known instance of a Shakespeare play being performed on television.

Garson was a ground breaking and very popular actress and this may have something to do with why her part time limousine is so popular now. It may also be because the Cadillac is a seven seater touring car with all of the comfort and style of a modern limousine but with a great story to tell too. In its day, the Cadillac was one of the most expensive cars made in America and MGM purchased one specifically for when Garson was on the lot and they had it customised just for her.
