Royal Ascot has come and gone for another year and either you made a few good bets and are living comfortably or you’re just glad you paid for your limo hire in advance so you didn’t have to try and barter for a taxi ride home with an empty wallet.
However, something which made the new shortly after Royal Ascot was an accident involving a limousine and a 70 year old woman. The woman was crossing the road at Royal Ascot and was hit by the limousine which had probably just dropped off some hopeful punters.
What bothers me though is that the media automatically assumes that the accident was the limousine chauffeur’s fault because their limo is probably illegally modified and unsafe to be on the road. The truth is that most sensible limo hire companies wouldn’t dare risk sending an unlicensed or illegal limo out on the road, let alone to a high profile event like Royal Ascot.
The media has tried many ways of making an example of the limousine industry without actually having all the facts!
