Most limo hire companies spend a lot of time and money searching for the right chauffeur to drive their limousines. Qualified chauffeurs not only have excellent service skills and presentation, they are also serious about ensuring the smoothest and most comfortable ride for their passengers.

However, despite their excellent and extensive training, chauffeurs are still just ordinary people too and the classy, stylish and seemingly untouchable limousines we see on our streets are sometimes involved in accidents.

Often the accident is not the chauffeur’s fault and the other driver was not paying attention, or worse still, was under the influence. However, sometimes the accidents are the fault of the chauffeur as they were unfamiliar with the size and responsiveness of the limousine they are driving.

This is often because the chauffeurs are not used to driving such large limousines as there are so many super stretch and SUV limousines around now and the demand is still increasing for bigger and bigger limousines.

This is why if the chauffeurs are driving a car they are not confident in, or one they do not drive everyday, they should do a practice run before they pick up their passengers to find out whether there is room to park, reverse and turn around or whether it is simply best to drive by and turn around while the passengers are inside.

Chauffeurs must put in extra time and effort to ensure they know as much as they can about the limousine they are driving and about their destination. If they are fully prepared for each trip, there is no danger that they will attempt a manoeuvre which they or their limousine can not complete.
