Having the perfect honeymoon will take some planning. After planning the perfect wedding you will know that not everything goes to plan. You may have ordered white napkins for the wedding reception and gotten ivory, or you may have wanted your wedding photos taken on the beach but the weather was bad.

There are many things you can’t control in your planning but to minimise your disappointment if things don’t go to plan, carefully consider the things you can control to create a perfect honeymoon.

Planning

Book your honeymoon early. This ensures that you will get a good room at the hotel of your first choice. You may even be able to squeeze some early bird discounts.

£££?

This is the one holiday you should be choosing the best you can but make sure you still have a budget. Look for all inclusive resorts as they will often include everything you will need for the whole honeymoon and the prices will be very competitive.

What do you want to do?

Before you pick your honeymoon destination, think about what you really want to be doing on your honeymoon, whether it be bubble baths in your hotel room, sunbathing on the beach or doing some bushwalking and exploring.

Hungry?

While you are checking out what there is to do at your honeymoon destination, make sure you can find a restaurant that you will enjoy.

Smile!

You may have to force yourself at first but try to take as many photos as you can, when you get back you will be glad you did, as it will ensure you have a pictorial memory of your honeymoon for years to come.

Time out

Make sure you set aside time to do nothing. Your honeymoon should not be like an ordinary holiday where you rush from tourist attraction to tourist attraction, enjoy the company of your new spouse and relax.

Luggage

As a precaution, pack some of your clothes in his suitcase and some of his in yours, also never pack any valuables like cameras or jewellery in your suitcases. Also remember to have a carry on bag filled with your valuables, sunscreen and travel documents in case you need them immediately.
