Honeymoon Destinations For Second weddings
When planning your second wedding you can of course choose any style, theme and location you like. With this in mind, many couples are now combining their second wedding with their honeymoon in a destination wedding.
The advantages of a destination wedding are the fact that the cost of throwing a formal wedding can be off-putting; however, you don't want your friends and family to miss out on your big day. At many weddings there are people who have travelled a long way to be there, by throwing a destination wedding, everyone has had to travel.
Also, those couples planning to get married a second time want to spend more time enjoying the moment and the celebration than running crazily around planning every last detail. Destination weddings are often more intimate as you are able to spend several days with your guests at the hotel you are all staying at instead of a rushed day, packed with photos, cake and boarding calls.
It is also easier than ever for couples to be married away from home as many countries have relaxed their wedding restrictions for non-residents, meaning there are a lot more destinations to choose from for the couple.
When planning your destination wedding, speak to an experienced travel agent as they will be able to recommend suitable locations for the type of wedding you are after. Choosing a location is also the first thing you will have to do as each country will have different rules about marriage.
Remember to notify your guests around five months before the wedding to make sure they are able to organise time off work and travel arrangements. It is also a good idea to reserve a group of seats on the plane for your guests as well as rooms at a couple of hotels near the venue, in different price ranges.
Destination weddings are often more intimate as not all of your guests will be able to travel to your wedding. This does make it the ideal option for a second wedding where the wedding is about the couple, not just the wedding day.
